MUSEUMS TO SEEK OUT

 

The Sierra Adventures Chamber is proud to introduce you to some of the areas unique museums which offer visitors glimpses into the history of the region.   The Maidu and Washoe Indians lived here first in the 30,000 square mile region that is the Sierra Adventures region.  

 

You'll find information on the Gold Rush, pioneers who followed in droves, a place where downhill skiing was first introduced to the Western Hemisphere, mail carriers, pony express history, the Donner Party tragedy, Mark Twain, Virginia City, Snowshoe Thomspon, Feather River Scenic Byway and  Railroad history, steam engines, loggers, miners, etc.
