Nevada Historical Society

Stories of native people, explorers, settlers, miners, ranchers, lawmen, legislators, businessmen, entertainers, gamblers, how Reno became the nation's divorce capital, prostitution and the silver state's notoriaous history of folks who lived on the rugged Nevada terrain.  It can all be found preserved at the Nevada Historical Society in Reno.

Nevada State Railroad Museum
Carson City, NV

Come enjoy railroad equipment, artifacts and exhibits on how the reailroad transformed the hostile frontier territory during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Learn about the Virginia & Truckee Railroad.  The locomotives and rail cars have rich and colorful history from silver mining to the silver screen. The Inyo is on display, one of the oldest operating steam locomotives in the United States.

Comstock History Center

This museum houses the Locomotive N. 18, Virginia and Truckee steam engine and the Comstock Historic District Commission and Library. The history center is an arcitectural testament to the history of Virginia City and the structures that once stood there.
